FTP is the most used method of transferring files and folders over the Internet and it has a series of advantages compared to other sharing methods, like email attachments or P2P applications. Still, in order to connect to any FTP site, you will first need to install a FTP client. The one that comes with Windows is command-line based and it's very difficult to use.

On the other hand, FTP-Go is different, as it offers a graphical interface and intuitive controls, allowing anyone to access FTP servers. The program does not need installing and it's enough to run the JAR file located in the program's package. Java is required to be installed in order to run FTP-Go and it should be downloaded from the official Java website.

After running the application, the user will notice that the interface resembles the one of Windows Explorer, having two file panels, one displaying the data located on the hard disk and the other one, the FTP server data. Connecting to a FTP site can be done by entering the server address, username and password. What's more, several FTP sites can be stored in the program's site manager, for allowing the user to connect to them with a single click, without having to enter the credentials over and over again.

After connecting to a FTP site, the user will be able to download and upload files and folders using the top graphical buttons. But the functionality of FTP-Go doesn't stop here, as there is also a simple FTP server included in the program's package. This server allows anyone to connect to your computer and transfer files. In order for the server to work, you will first need to define two passwords, one for read access and the other for read and write access.

Pros

It allows you to easily connect to any FTP site and exchange files using a graphical interface. Besides that, it can store several FTP sites in a site manager, allowing you to connect to any of them with a single click. Furthermore, it includes a FTP server which can be fully customized.

Cons

The program doesn't support drag and drop, for transferring files to and from the FTP server. FTP-Go allows you to easily connect to any FTP server and transfer files using a graphical interface.
